Change Your Future

How do you change your future?
How do you change your future? Change your actions. You may never know what results come from your actions.

You may never know what results come from your actions, but if you do nothing, there will be no results.

– Gandhi

Who Was Gandhi?

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi lead India to independence from Great Britain through non-violent civil disobedience. We know him as just Gandhi, which is his family name, or Mahatma Gandhi. “Mahatma” is an honorific title like “honorable” or “venerable.”

What Are Your Current Results?

Gandhi said that you may not know the results of your actions, at least not long term. But you probably have a good idea about where your current actions are taking you.
Do you like where you are headed?
People like to give away their power. They don’t want to take responsibility for their results because it’s easier to blame your spouse, your boss, or the government.
That’s a complete waste of your time.
But once you realize that you are giving away your power there is another realization that comes right on it’s heels.
You have the power. You must have it because you can’t give away something that you don’t have, something that isn’t yours.

How Do You Change Your Future?

When you take responsibility for your results then you can begin to shape your future.
Your current results are the result of your past actions. If you decide you don’t like your current results then you have to change your actions.
I disagree a little bit with Gandhi in the literal meaning of his quote. If you do nothing you still get a result, though you probably won’t like it.
No action keeps you where you are, or more likely, moves you backward. I’ve heard Bob Proctor say it many times in his seminars. If you aren’t growing, you’re dying. There’s no staying the same.
So take action. If your current action isn’t moving you in the right direction, then change your action.
It may not be very easy, but it is that simple.

Bonus Quote

Here’s one of my favorite quotes from James Arthur Ray.

Results do not equal no results plus a good story.

– James Arthur Ray

Ditch the excuses. Take responsibility and take action to create the results you want.
